Our bodies are tensegrity structures. They have a basic elastic tension due to a myofascial network in which all muscles, organs and bones are held together. Everything in us is wrapped in fascia. These extremely flexible fibers respond to traction and pressure. Made of water and collagen, they are slippery and sensitive. The way we address them in Fascia Yoga (Soulyoga) is therefore sensitive, moving, pulsating. We use the tensile and compressive forces in active stretching. This leads to an unfolding of the spine in its natural double-S shape. The individual vertebrae do not lie on top of each other but float within the elastically pre-tensioned fascia.
